Oppo A2x: Entry-Level 5G Smartphone Unveiled in China

Oppo has quietly introduced the Oppo A2x smartphone in China, following the earlier release of the Oppo A1x this year. The Oppo A2x is an entry-level 5G phone with a 90Hz display, a Dimensity chipset, substantial storage, and more. Here are the key specifications:

  • Display: The phone features a 6.56-inch LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 720 x 1612 pixels HD+ resolution, up to 720 nits of brightness, and 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut.
  • Performance: It runs on ColorOS 13.1 based on Android 13, powered by the Dimensity 6020 chipset.
  • Storage and RAM: The Oppo A2x is available in two configurations – 6GB or 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
  • Battery: It houses a 5,000mAh battery, but details about its fast-charging capabilities are not available.
  • Cameras: While official camera details are not disclosed, it’s expected to have a 13-megapixel primary rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera.
  • Design: The phone features an IP54-rated splash-resistant chassis, measuring 163.8 x 75.1 x 8.12mm and weighing 185 grams.

Pricing and availability: The Oppo A2x will go on sale in China on October 14th. It comes in two variants:

6GB RAM + 128GB storage: 1,099 Yuan ($153) 8GB RAM + 256GB storage: 1,399 Yuan ($195) Buyers can choose from colors like black, gold, and purple.

There is no information on its global release at this time.
