In Pakistan, the tola price has witnessed an increase of Rs6,400 in the domestic market, as reported by ARY News on Wednesday. According to Muhammad Arshad, the chairman of the All Pakistan Jewellers Manufacturers Association, the price of gold per tola has risen by Rs6,500, reaching Rs206,500.
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold has increased by Rs5,487, now trading at Rs107,740. In the international market, the price of gold has seen a $46 increase, settling at $1,938 per ounce.
Conversely, the US dollar has strengthened against the Pakistani rupee in interbank trading on Wednesday, gaining one rupee, and now stands at Rs278, according to foreign exchange dealers. The US currency has also risen by one rupee in the open market, trading at Rs278, up from 277 rupees. Last week, the US dollar had lost Rs5.07 against the Pakistani rupee in interbank trading.
