Adiala Jail Denies Imran Khan Exercycle Request, Special Court to Decide

Adiala jail authorities have refused to grant permission for an exercycle to be provided to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, currently detained on judicial remand in a cipher case. The jail administration prevented the exercise machine from entering the facility in Rawalpindi, stating that it cannot be provided without a written order from the special court.

A petition filed by Sheraz Ahmed Raja in the special court under the Official Secrets Act is seeking permission for Imran Khan to have the exercycle in jail, arguing that it is within his rights as per jail standard operating procedures (SOPs). The court has issued notices to the concerned parties and set a reply deadline of October 23.

Previously, Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, had requested Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain to issue an order allowing the exercycle to be provided to her brother while in jail.
