Gold Prices Experience Slight Decline in Domestic Market

A day after a significant increase, gold prices saw a minor decline in the domestic market. The per tola gold price decreased by Rs200, closing at Rs206,300, while the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold dropped by Rs171, settling at Rs176,869, as reported by the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA).

Meanwhile, the Pakistani rupee strengthened against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Thursday, appreciating by nearly Rs2. During intra-day trading, the local currency hovered around Rs278.50, marking an increase of approximately 0.70 percent.

On the previous day, the per tola gold price had surged by Rs6,400 to Rs206,500, and the price of 10 grams of 24-carat gold had risen by Rs5,487, settling at Rs177,040.

Conversely, in the international market, the price of gold exhibited an upward trend, increasing by $13 to reach $1,972 per ounce.

In the preceding session, the PKR had experienced losses, with the currency falling to 280.29 after briefly touching Rs275 in the interbank market.
