In the Batal area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Ali Nawaz Awan and Amir Dogar were arrested on Wednesday in Mansehra.

Since the May 9 riots, which were triggered by the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan by paramilitary troops on the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC), hundreds of PTI leaders and workers have been arrested and forced to leave the party.

Former members of the National Assembly, Awan and Dogar, were apprehended at the residence of local PTI leader Razaullah Khan, who, along with his cousins, was also taken into custody.

In a corruption case related to Swabi’s Gaju Khan Medical College, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab arrested PTI leader Asad Qaiser in Islamabad last week. Subsequently, Asad Qaiser was transferred to Bani Gala Police Station.

PTI Chief Imran Khan and Vice-Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi are already incarcerated at Adiala Jail, where they are facing multiple legal cases.
