ABU DHABI: On Friday, the second test match between Pakistan and Australia took place in Abu Dhabi, where Mohammed Abbas, a medium pacer, took his maiden ten-wicket haul and fired Pakistan to a 373-run victory over Australia.

In his first innings, he followed his 5-33 with figures of 5-62 to smash Australia for 164.

After Australia set a 538- run target for Pakistan, this win helped Pakistan to sum up the two-match series to 1-0, after Australia fought back to draw the first test match held in Dubai last week.

This win by Pakistan was Australia’s heaviest defeat against Pakistan, 4 years ago beating the 356-run hammering at the same place.

Abbas, a 28 year old Pakistani Cricket Player, managed to get a total of 17 wickets and helped in Pakistan’s tremendous victory against Australia.

Due to his amazing effort, Abbas became the first Pakistani fast bowler to take 10 wickets In a test match since the time in 2006 when Mohammad Asif did so too in a match against Sri Lanka held at Kandy.

The tenth series win of Pakistan against Australia was a result of the admirable performance of Abbas who took 4 wickets off just 23 balls and Yasir Shah who took 3 wickets with 45 runs. This win was achieved on the neutral venues of the United Arab Emirates.

Since being forced to play their home matches in UAE, since 2009, Pakistan has only lost one series to Sri Lanka 2-0 last year.

In March 2009, attacks on the Sri Lankan team were witnessed in Lahore thus the Pakistani team were forced to play their home matches in United Arab Emirates.

Abbas’s bowling came as shock to the Australian team as they had no answers to justify their defeat. The only batsmen who managed to show some resistance were Travis Head with a score of 36 runs, Aaron Finch with a score of 31 runs and Marnus Labuschagne who managed to make 43 runs.

Yasir Shah took the last wicket and Pakistan had its amazing victory. Jon Holland was the last batsman to get dismissed.

The captain of the Pakistan’s cricket team, Sarfraz praised Abbas for his performance and Abbas also received the award of the man of the  match.
