Blast in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Karachi, 6 People Injured

Update: The recent reports say that 6 people injured in the blast at Perfume Chowk in Gulistan-i-Jauhar, Karachi on Saturday night. The main target of the blast was Mehfil-i-Milad that was going on late night on Perfume Chowk, Block 18 area. According to Azfar Mahesar, the SSP East, two unidentified persons riding a motorcycle were seen near the gathering. They hurled the handmade grenade and fled from the location. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, the IT Minister and Khawaja Izharul Hasan, MQM Leader were also attending the Mehfil-e-Milad. However, they remained safe.

According to the reports, the affected area is considered a busy area of Gulistan-i-Jauhar. Due to the blast, the traffic is blocked and the people are facing great difficulty while moving towards their homes.

The witnesses told that when the blast was heard, the people from nearby areas were attending the Milad gathering. As a result of the blast, a violent dispersion of the people was seen. The situation is still chaotic. It is unknown whether the people injured due to the blast or due to the violent dispersion of the people.

Still, the nature of the blast is not known. The witnesses are in an ambiguous situation and they cannot tell exactly whether it was a cylinder blast or terrorism to make the people afraid. However, the police rangers are called out to the Perfume Chowk. They are alert and working efficiently to spotlight the causes and the nature of the blast.

The police rangers have cordoned off the area so that they could collect the facts and proofs. They are trying to find out the nature of the blast. It is still not clear whether it was an intentional blast or an accidental. Some people are considering it a part of terrorism. However, the final reports on this matter are still awaited.
