Lahore: NAB is continuously making arrests in various scandals. Today, NAB again showed its power against Khawaja Saad Rafique and Salman Rafique and arrested them. NAB arrested them in Paragon Housing Society scam. Both of the PLM-N leaders requested to Lahore High Court to extend their pre-arrest bail. They were facing allegation for a scam in Paragon Housing Society. However, Lahore High Court rejected the request.
According to the reports, Today morning, a bench consists of two judges in the supervision of Justice Tariq Abbasi held to hear the extension appeal of these two PML-N leaders in pre-arrest bail. The court gave extension till December 13 initially. But later, it rejected the petition and NAB arrested both the leaders immediately.
The National Accountability Bureau sent their summons on October 16 in the Paragon Housing scam. But they filed a petition in Islamabad High Court for a pre-arrest bail. Islamabad High Court rejected their petition and ordered them to approach the Lahore High Court.
Lahore High Court gave them the protective bail. So, they appeared before the National Accountability Bureau for inquiry regarding this allegation. NAB has alleged them for corruption in Paragon Housing Society. The NAB Lahore has issued a press release regarding the allegations on Rafique brothers.
However, Marriyum Aurangzeb, PML-N spokesperson is considering it a political revenge by the Govt. of Pakistan against PML-N. She stated that Khawaja Saad Rafique had filed an appeal in Lahore High Court for transferring the inquiry from DG NAB Lahore to any other branch of the bureau. She advises NAB to conduct inquiries regarding many current affairs like EOBI, Jahangir Tareen, Malam Jabba resorts etc. She also pointed out that NAB is not making an inquiry about Prime Minister’s private use of helicopters.
