CA Visiting Pakistan

Cricket Australia softens its attitude towards Pakistan. It is going to visit Pakistan in 2019 possibly in March.

Earlier, most of the cricket teams were avoiding touring Pakistan. It may be due to the incident happened in 2009 when Sri Lankan cricketers were attacked in Pakistan. They were here to play three tests and one-day internationals. The team was headed by Mark Taylor at that time. Some terrorists attacked the vehicle carrying Sri Lankan players while they were visiting Lahore. Due to this attack, six cricketers were injured and six security guards were killed whereas, two civilians were also killed.

After this incident, cricketers from other parts of the world tried to avoid visiting Pakistan due to security reasons. Now, The Age confirms that the Cricket Australia is less reluctant for visiting Pakistan as compared to the past. Earlier, they were not ready to take the risk of coming to a country where there is no proper security.

According to the CA spokesperson, the CA is having continuous discussion sessions with the Pakistan Cricket Board regarding the security situations. Cricket Australia intends to visit Pakistan for a one-day series in March 2019. They are sure that the Pakistani Govt. and PCB will make all possible security measures for the international players. The topmost priority of the CA is the security of their cricketers and the staff members.

Khan is very hopeful about the Australian team’s visit to Pakistan to play a One-day series. The series is scheduled to be held in the UAE in March 2019. However, PCB will host two one-day matches in Pakistan. The remaining three will be held in the UAE. So, Khan is hopeful that the CA will not be hesitant in accepting the visit invitation.
