Lahore: Minister of Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad held a press conference on Saturday in Lahore. Talking to media, he said that the salary of the Railway Police is going to be equal to the salary of Punjab Police.
Despite the bad economic condition, the decision to increase the salary of Railway Police is to end the corruption and to stop the people from travelling to different destinations without ticket, he added.
In his further talks with media, he said that in the current month, GPS trackers will be installed on the railway engines. He also added that twenty more trains including two VVIP trains will be the part of the system by the end of this year. The VVIP trains will be full of five-star facilities. We are also giving railway land for five years on lease, he continued.
It is good to see that Supreme Court is willing to hear and end all the railway cases as soon as possible, he added. Further he said that we are going to Supreme Court for the recovery of Rs3 billions of Pakistan railways from Royal Palm Golf and Country Club.
Moreover, Sheikh Rasheed also stated that we are also going to start the railways’ FM radio to provide convenience to the travelers.
