Cape Town: The current Pakistani team captain Sarfraz Ahmed decided to quit from the test team captaincy on Monday as his team has lost 2 back to back test series under his captaincy.

According to the reports, the Pakistani captain will announce his retirement today. The team management is now working on the names of the players that who will be the next test team captain for Pakistan.

The names of Asad Shafiq and Shan Masood are under scrutiny but according to the sources, Shan Masood is the strong candidate for becoming the new test captain of Pakistan.

Pakistan has already lost the test series against South Africa and the last series against New Zealand in UAE.

Under his captaincy, Pakistan played 12 test matches and only managed to win 4 and lost 7.

Sarfraz Ahmed was under immense pressure before going to South Africa because at that time many people were criticizing Sarfraz on his captaincy.

Before going to South Africa he also said that if the team will lose the test series in South Africa, it is likely that I will think to quit.
