FMR delivers cheque of Rs 60 million to CJ of Pakistan in Dam fund on behalf of Pakistan Railways
The Federal Minister of Railways Sheikh Rasheed presented a cheque worth Rs 60 million to Chief Justice of Pakistan in Dam fund on Wednesday. The federal minister delivered the cheque on behalf of the Pakistan Railways.
Many people in Pakistan including the overseas Pakistanis are contributing for Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dam funds. There is an urgent need for dams as Pakistan may suffer from water shortage in the near future.
The Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dam fund was established in July 2018. It was a great initiative by the Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar who initiated a worldwide donation drive for the construction of dams.
Earlier, overseas Pakistanis contributed Rs1 billion for dam funds.
The Pakistan Army has also made a significant contribution to dam funds and donated big amounts two times.
Other than this, Bahria Town has also donated big amount for dam funds. Other major contributors are DHA Lahore, Pakistan Defence Officers Housing Authority, HBL Islamic Charity, Karachi Chamber of Commerce, Pakistan National Shipping Corporation, and Qureshi Industries.
