There is a surprise for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) fans as some major changes took place in the event of PSL Replacement Draft 2019 that was held on 24th January.
It was a closed-door event where the representatives of all the franchises participated to replace some players with other players to make their respective teams strong.
The four franchises named Multan Sultans, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, and Lahore Qalandars had submitted their replacement bids. The other two teams including Karachi Kings and Islamabad United will submit the bids later.
The franchise of ‘Multan Sultans’ has permanently replaced injured former Australian captain Steve Smith with the West Indian all-rounder Andre Russell. Moreover, Joe Denly of England is replaced by another England player James Vince.
The ‘Quetta Gladiators’ has selected Dwayne Smith from West Indies as a temporary replacement for another West Indian DJ Bravo.
The franchise of ‘Peshawar Zalmi’ has picked West Indian batsman Andre Fletcher in place of Waqar Salamkheil from Bangladesh.
The ‘Lahore Qalandars’ has also selected two South African players Hardus Viljoen and David Wiese as temporary replacements for another South African star AB de Villiers and Carlos Braithwaite and Corey Anderson from West Indies and New Zealand respectively.
Also, in the squad expansion bids, the Lahore Qalandars have picked Saad Ali and Multan Sultans selected Hammad Azam. Moreover, Mohammad Irfan Jr. is selected by Quetta Gladiators and Umer Khan by Karachi Kings.
