Captain Shoaib Malik

The Pakistan Cricket Board had decided to appoint Shoaib Malik as a captain of Pakistan Cricket team in the absence of Sarfraz Ahmed. Sarfraz is facing a ban of 4 matches because of the controversial comments he passed to the South African batsman in the 2nd ODI against South Africa.

Shoaib Malik captained the side in the 4th ODI, and Pakistan won that match comfortably with 8 wickets. He will also lead the side in the remaining 5th one-day international that will be played on Wednesday.

Sarfarz Ahmed is also the captain of the T20 side and the Pakistani team have been doing excellent in this format under his captaincy. So as he will not be able to captain the side for the first two T20s against South Africa, it is expected that Shoaib Malik will also lead the team in the first two T20 matches.

Shoaib Malik had been the captain of Pakistan Cricket Team in 2009 and now once again PCB made him the captain of the team.
