Latest Updates: The Accountability court has granted the NAB for the Physical remand of Aleem Khan, former senior Minister of the Punjab Government. Aleem Khan will be on physical remand till February 15 for owning assets beyond his income.
According to the NAB spokesman, The NAB arrested Aleem Khan for keeping an offshore company. He further stated that Aleem Khan misused his powers for Parkview Housing Society. Furthermore, he was accused to constitute A & A Company to get 1,500 Kanals land in Lahore and nearby areas. The NAB also accused him of making some offshore companies during his visits to UK and UAE in 2005 and 2006.

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau has arrested the Punjab Minister Aleem Khan on Wednesday. The NAB was investigating against him for keeping more properties than income. He had insufficient records to satisfy the NAB probes regarding his offshore company. NAB started probing into his offshore company as his name was also included in Panama Leaks in April 2016. The list contained 435 Pakistanis in total. The NAB officers launched a complete inquiry regarding Shell Entities in the British Virgin Islands. However, he could not produce sufficient documentation. Resultantly, the chairman of NAB Justice (r) Javed Iqbal ordered to arrest him. NAB also ordered for his remand tomorrow. Aleem Khan was Senior Minister of Local Government & Community Development, Planning & Development of Punjab.

On the arrest by NAB, Aleem Khan has resigned from his designation. According to his family sources, he has sent his resignation letter to Usman Buzdar, the CM Punjab.
Prime Minister Imran Khan appreciated his decision and stated that everyone should abide by the law and everything in his case will also be proceeded as per law. He also directs the Ministers to avoid giving baseless comments on this matter.
