KARACHI: Two children died in Karachi today in the morning due to the young doctor’s strike.
According to the sources, the young doctors are protesting in Karachi, and they have completely boycotted the OPDs and wards of all hospitals in Karachi. They are not providing treatment to the patients. Two children admitted in the National Institute of Child Health in Karachi, and the doctors did not provide them with the medical treatment. As a result, both children died. The young doctors are demanding the government to raise their monthly salaries.
The Head of NICH, Dr Jamal Raza denied the news and stated that the children did not die due to the doctors’ strike. One of the children was mentally challenged while the other died of pneumonia. The family members of the patients protested against this situation. He further stated that only OPDs are closed due to the protest of Young Doctors, but the patients in the wards are receiving necessary medical treatment.
The Sindh government is not negotiating to increase their salaries as per the salary level of Punjab and KPK.
