Nawaz Sharif Bail Rejected by Islamabad High Court

Islamabad High Court has rejected the bail plea of Nawaz Sharif in Al-Azizia Steel Mills case today.

According to the source, the PML-N workers were anxiously waiting for the decision outside the Islamabad High Court, but on the rejection of the bail plea of their Quaid, they started protesting against it. The petition was filed on February 20, and they reserved the verdict after hearing the appeal.

The petition stated that the sentence in Al-Azizia case should be suspended until the final verdict of the case is declared. Last year, he was sentenced to seven years in prison.

The National Accountability Bureau requested the court to reject the application for Nawaz Sharif’s bail. He spent only three months in prison including his time in the hospitals.

The only way he can use against the rejection of his plea is to approach the Supreme Court of Pakistan.  The former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated that the plea was filed as Nawaz Sharif could not receive proper treatment for his severe cardiac issues while remaining in the jail.
