ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority has approved the increased power tariff by 81 paisa/unit for the consumers.
The consumers will face an additional burden of Rs 5.20 billion by this increased Power Tariff. Since the prices of Sui Northern Gas have been increased, after Petrol and LPG, another shock for the consumers is the increased power tariff.
According to NEPRA, 22.77% of power has been generated by using the sui gas. Ultimately, the rates of Sui Gas had a hike. Furthermore, a large portion of Power has been generated by the Coal that is imported from various countries.
Consequently, the import expenses have affected the power generation expenses. NEPRA has to increase the power tariff to put the financial burden of Power Generation by Coal and Sui Gas on the consumers. The new Power Tariff will be applicable from the next month in bills for April.
Feel so bad about increase in almost everything now a days.
I don’t know why the government is using imported coal while we have it in Pakistan “Thar Coal” Does anybody know ?
