OGRA Proposes the Petrol Prices Hike by Rs 14.37 from May

ISLAMABAD: OGRA has proposed to the Government to increase the petrol prices by Rs 14.37/liter. The price increase notification will be implemented from 1st May 2019.

According to the sources, Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority Pakistan has recommended to the Government to increase the oil and petrol prices. In the summery sent to the Government, OGRA has proposed to hike the petrol prices by Rs 14.37/liter, the high-speed diesel by Rs 4.89, kerosene oil by Rs 7.46/liter and light diesel oil by Rs 6.40/liter.

If the Government gives the consent for the implementation of the proposed prices by OGRA, the petrol price will be Rs 113.26, high speed diesel will be available in Rs 122.32/liter, light diesel oil in Rs 86.94 and the kerosene oil will be available in Rs 96.77.

However, the final hike in the oil and gas will be decided after consultation with the Prime Minister, Imran Khan. Currently, the prices of Oil, Diesel, and Petrol are already at the highest level.

Update: The government has delayed the decision to raise the price of petroleum products, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan announced on Tuesday.
