Pakistan Witnesses Lowest Covid Cases since Outbreak

On Wednesday, Asad Umer, federal planning minister and chair of National Command and Operation Center (NCOC), said that the country has recorded the “lowest positivity ratio since we started measuring Covid.”

The Federal Minister also said that the country also posted the “lowest patients on critical care” and the “lowest daily mortality in a year.” The daily positivity rate for Wednesday, 27th October 2021 was 1.34, according to NCOC.

Asad Umer Tweeted earlier today, highlighting the fruits and positive impact of vaccination. He also highlighted the importance of continuing with the vaccination drive.

“Alhamdulillah, we now have the lowest positivity ratio since we started measuring covid. Also, have lowest patients on critical care & the lowest daily mortality in a year. Positive impact of vaccination showing but vaccination drive must continue. Globally 7,500 died of covid yesterday.”

Update on Polio Virus

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr. Faisal Sultan said yesterday that Pakistan is on its way to eradicating Poliovirus from the country.

He said this in a meeting with a delegation of the Pakistan Polio Eradication Program. The delegation further briefed him about the details of the polio surveillance review.

The SAPM said, “We should not lose this golden opportunity.”

Pakistan has been taking measures since 1994 to eradicate the Poliovirus. He said, “The country has extremely improved its polio surveillance and controlled the virus with the best strategy.”

He further highlighted, “Despite coronavirus pandemic, Pakistan’s anti-polio program has launched best vaccination drives.”
