LHC Gives Fuel Adjustment Relief to All Electricity Consumers

On Tuesday 30 August 2022, Lahore High Court Rawalpindi gives a big relief to all electricity consumers instead of 200 units by suspending fuel adjustment charges in bills.

LHC Rawalpindi Circuit bench headed by Justice Jawadul Hasan heard the plea against the collection of fuel adjustment charges and gave a major relief to the electricity consumers by eliminating FAC.

The petition was filed by advocate Ch Rizwan Elahi, requesting the court to withdraw FAC from the power tariffs of all consumers. However, the court ordered NEPRA and WAPDA not to charge this tax from consumers saying that the relief should be provided to all. Justice Jawadul Hasan summoned the ISCO chief on September 15.

It should be noted that the citizens protest on a huge level against high electricity bills in response to which the Lahore High Court ordered citizens on 24 August to deduct fuel adjustment charges and submit the remaining bill amount.

Earlier, PM Shahbaz Sharif announced fuel adjustment relief for 17 million power consumers who are using electricity for less than 200 units. But After LHC orders that the fuel adjustment exemption will be given to all consumers.
