19 more killed in floods in Pakistan, total death toll rises to 1208

August 09, 2022: According to NDMA, 10 more deaths have occurred in the last 24 hours due to floods. The dead includes three men, seven women, and nine children.

The total number of people who have died due to floods has reached 1208. However, the number of injured in a single day in the last 24 hours is 1256. The injured include 598 men, 395 women, and 263 children while the total number of injured persons has reached 6082 so far.

As per NDMA data, the highest number of 12 deaths were reported in Sindh in the last 24 hours however 80 districts of the country were badly affected by the floods. Besides Sindh, 4 died in KPK and 3 died in Balochistan while no deaths have occurred in Punjab.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast for further rain in September and warned that additional flash floods may occur in several regions of Pakistan.

According to the PMD’s September weather report, there will likely be an overall tendency toward normal to above average rains across Pakistan.
