Mohammad Rizwan goes past Babar Azam to become the top-ranked Men’s T20I batter in the world

Mohammad Rizwan holds the position of No.1 ranked Men’s T20I Batsman in the latest ICC rankings after his stunning performance in Asia Cup 2022 while covering 14 rating point gap with Babar Azam.

The wicketkeeper-batsman has become the third Pakistani player to be ranked No. 1 in the ICC Men’s T20I batting rankings after Babar Azam and Misbah-ul-Haq.

He seized the top T20I batter position for the first time in his career due to his brilliant performance in Asia Cup 2022. Mohammad Rizwan has 818 points with 192 runs in 3 matches including a scintillating 71-run knock against India. He had 796 points before Asia Cup 2022.

Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan has overtaken his opening partner and captain Babar Azam to take the top spot among batsmen in the ICC Men’s T20 Player Rankings. Before Rizwan, Babar Azam stays at the position of top batter for 313 days, the longest time period in the history of T20I rankings.

Babr lost the spot now due to lack of big scores in the recent Asia cup tournament and slipped to the second position with 794 points. South Africa’s Aiden Markram is in 3rd position while India’s Suryakumar Yadav is in the fourth position.
