UAE: In the Super Four stage of the ongoing Asia Cup T20 tournament, Pakistan qualified for the final by defeating Afghanistan by one wicket after an interesting match. Pakistan’s win eliminated India and Afghanistan from the event.
In the 10th match of the Asia Cup played at Sharjah International Cricket Stadium, Pakistan won the toss and decided to field first.
Pakistan achieved Afghanistan’s target of 130 runs with 2 consecutive sixes by Naseem Shah in the last over. He scored 14 runs off 4 balls with the help of two sixes.
In pursuit of Afghanistan’s target of 130 runs, Pakistan’s 9 wickets fell to 118 runs. Babar Azam Safar, Fakhar Zaman 5, and Mohammad Rizwan were dismissed for 20 runs. Apart from this, Iftikhar returned to the pavilion for 30 runs and Shadab Khan for 36 runs.
Afghanistan scored 129 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. Ibrahim Zadran scored 35 runs. In addition, Rahmanullah 17 off 11 balls, Hazratullah Zazai 21, Karim Jannat 15, Najeebullah 10 runs, and captain Mohammad Nabi 0 runs.
Both Pakistan and Sri Lanka have reached to Asia Cup 2022 final that will be held on Sunday, 11 September 2022.
