United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie arrived in Pakistan to visit flood-affected areas. Angelina Julie visited the National Flood Response Coordination Center yesterday where she was briefed about the flood damage and relief activities.
Speaking during a visit, Angelina Jolie said that the world has no idea about the devastation that has happened in Pakistan due to floods. She asked the international community to “do more” for the Pakistani flood victims and said that today Pakistanis are victims of a major natural disaster, the world should wake up to the situation.
“I have never seen such a disaster in my life. There are many children among these people who are in the struggle of life and death”, she added.
Angelina Julie arrived in Pakistan on September 20, 2022 to show support and solidarity for flood victims. She has previously visited Pakistan to meet the victims of the 2010 floods and the 2005 earthquake.
According to a press release issued by the International Rescue Committee, Angelina Jolie reached Dadu on Wednesday, 21 September where she met the flood victims, especially women. She visited the flood-affected areas to get an awareness of the situation. However, Angelina Jolie is likely to stay in Pakistan for two more days.
