Terrorist killed in gun battle with security forces in North Waziristan: ISPR

In North Waziristan’s Ramzak area, a terrorist met his end in a fiery clash with security forces, as disclosed by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the military’s media affairs wing, on Sunday. The successful operation also resulted in the recovery of weapons and ammunition that belonged to the now-deceased terrorist.

This particular terrorist, known as ‘Ghazi’ and identified as Azeem Ullah, had been actively engaged in perpetrating various acts of terrorism against security forces and was responsible for the tragic loss of innocent civilian lives.

Responding to this imminent threat, security forces promptly launched a comprehensive sanitization operation in the area to ensure the eradication of any potential terrorists who might pose a danger to the community. The local residents in the vicinity have expressed their deep appreciation for the efforts of the security forces in safeguarding their well-being.

Over recent months, Pakistan has grappled with a concerning surge in terrorist activities, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) bearing the brunt of the violence. This escalation followed the termination of the ceasefire agreement between the government and the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in November of the previous year.

Notably, data gathered by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS) has revealed that August recorded the highest number of militant attacks in nearly nine years. With a total of 99 attacks across the country, it marked the most significant monthly tally since November 2014.
