Amidst escalating tensions, Israel, in response to a surprise offensive by Hamas, imposed a total siege on the Gaza Strip and cut off its water supply.

Israeli airstrikes on the Jabalia refugee camp resulted in numerous casualties among Palestinians, while Hamas retaliated by launching attacks on Israel and firing thousands of rockets.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed to use “enormous force” and urged civilians to steer clear of Hamas sites to avoid harm.

Since the conflict began, over 123,000 people in Gaza have been displaced, many of whom have sought refuge in schools.

The Gaza Strip, home to 2.3 million Palestinians, has been grappling with a crippling Israeli blockade since 2007, exacerbating the crisis.

Lebanon’s Hezbollah militia expressed support for Hamas, further inflaming tensions in the region.

In response, Israel mobilized 300,000 reservists and initiated an offensive operation.

The United Nations appealed for humanitarian corridors to facilitate the delivery of food into Gaza, emphasizing the critical nature of the situation.
