Punjab Opens Applications for Free Housing Scheme for Industrial Workers

The Punjab government has launched a housing initiative offering free flats to industrial workers, with special provisions for widows and disabled workers. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the program, calling it a step toward improving living conditions for the province’s labor force.

Under the scheme, 3% of units will be set aside for widows of deceased workers, while 2% will be allocated to disabled workers. The first phase focuses on applicants from Lahore and Kasur districts, with 750 flats available at no cost at the Workers Welfare Complex in Sundar Industrial Estate, Kasur.

Easy Access to Applications

Workers can now download application forms online via official Punjab government websites, or collect them free of charge from the Director Labour Welfare (North) and Deputy Director Labour Welfare (South), Kasur offices. Applications will be accepted until September 8.

The allocation plan gives two-thirds of the flats to Kasur-based workers and the remaining one-third to applicants from Lahore.
