Pakistan’s space agency, SUPARCO, has announced that the moon for the Islamic month of Rabi-ul-Awwal is predicted to be born on August 23 at 11:06 a.m. local time.
Based on astronomical calculations, the agency indicated there is a strong possibility that the moon will be visible on August 24, signaling the start of the month. If confirmed, Monday, August 25, would mark the first day of Rabi-ul-Awwal for Pakistan.
SUPARCO emphasized that the official confirmation of the moon sighting rests with the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which will make the final announcement after observing the sky.
Rabi-ul-Awwal holds significant importance for Muslims worldwide, being associated with celebrations and religious observances, including the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Observers across the country are now preparing for possible moon sighting events over the weekend.
