Punjab’s Higher Education Department has finalized plans to kick off the second round of its laptop distribution program, aiming to support more high-achieving students across the province.
The latest phase is set to begin in early September, with the provincial Chief Minister expected to personally oversee the opening ceremony. A detailed distribution schedule has already been mapped out, ensuring laptops are allocated strictly on merit.
This comes after a successful first round earlier this year, where 14,000 laptops were distributed among students in Lahore. The expansion signals a broader push to provide digital tools to students in other districts, a move that education officials say is designed to bridge the technology gap and improve learning opportunities.
The program is part of Punjab’s broader education initiatives, which have increasingly focused on digital literacy as a core skill for future careers. Officials say this step is particularly crucial as more academic and professional fields demand tech-savvy graduates.
