NADRA Expands Services Across Sindh with New Mega Centers and Digital Upgrades

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) is gearing up for a major expansion in Sindh, announcing 13 new offices and mega centers aimed at easing access to identity registration and documentation services.

The decision came after a meeting between Sindh Chief Secretary Dr. Asif Haider Shah and NADRA officials, where discussions went beyond just identity cards. The talks also touched on the province’s move toward digital property transfers and improved land record management—a step that could reduce red tape and limit corruption in the long run.

Push Toward Digital Governance

Dr. Shah noted that Sindh is transitioning to online property transfer systems, aligning with broader goals of digital governance. For a province where bureaucratic delays have long been a complaint, digitization could make routine processes smoother and more transparent. NADRA’s role is expected to be central in ensuring that these services reach even rural communities that often get left behind.

Expansion in Karachi and Beyond

Karachi, the country’s largest city, will see NADRA counters placed in all of its union councils, according to Mayor Murtaza Wahab. He announced the development while inaugurating an upgraded registration center at Babar Market in Landhi.

Meanwhile, new mega centers are under construction in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulberg, and Surjani Town. These facilities are being designed with accessibility in mind—wheelchair ramps, additional seating, and more service counters are part of the plan.

Passport Services Also Widening

To streamline travel-related documentation, the Ministry of Interior has added passport processing counters to NADRA mega centers in Nazimabad and SITE, while new passport offices have opened in Karachi’s Central and Western districts. This dual expansion of both ID and passport services reflects an effort to consolidate citizen services under fewer roofs.

Technology Upgrade: Pak ID Mobile App

On the digital front, NADRA has also updated its Pak ID Mobile App to version 5.0.0. The upgrade introduces a faster CNIC cancellation process, better search functionality, and a bilingual interface in Urdu and English. With many users in rural areas relying on smartphones rather than physical visits, these features could significantly reduce the burden on physical offices.
