Developer and politician Abdul Aleem Khan announced a major flood defense project that he says will be both a safety measure and an investment in the neighborhood’s future.
A 30-Foot Shield Against Rising Waters
The centerpiece of the plan is a 30-foot-high embankment that will run behind the housing society along the river. Khan said construction would begin immediately and is expected to wrap up within 100 days. Beyond its protective role, the barrier will also serve as a recreational space, with a jogging track, landscaped green zones, and controlled access for residents. Security cameras and staff will monitor the area to ensure safety.
Relief for Flood Victims
Recognizing the losses families endured during the recent flooding, Khan announced a PKR 1 billion relief package. Compensation will be distributed directly to households once damage claims are verified. He called on residents to be truthful in their declarations so that funds go to those who genuinely suffered losses.
Beyond Emergency Measures
Khan also pointed to broader infrastructure improvements in the pipeline. A dedicated LESCO grid station has been approved for Park View, a move that could finally stabilize electricity supply in an area that has long faced power outages.

He dismissed speculation that the housing society would not recover, quoting a famous line from the Punjabi classic Maula Jutt to underscore his resolve.
